Yardage Boards on Every Hole

As you arrive at each hole, you'll find a Yardage Board (pictured below), providing precise yardages to help you plan your shot. These measurements are calculated to the middle of the green, not directly to the pin—so factor in adjustments for pin placement with your Range Finder, as well as course conditions.

Navigating the Tee Boxes & Yardage Signs

Golfers will easily find their designated tee box using the Custom Tee Box Markers placed on every Hole throughout the course. However, when reading the Hole Signs upon arrival, note that the yardages are listed in ascending order from Tee 1 through Tee 5—with Tee Boxes 1, 3, & 5 specifically marked for The Rush OPEN.

Live Scoring

With a $3,000 purse on the line, competition in The Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL will be intense. To ensure fair play and accuracy, score officials will be Assigned to each Match pairing, walking all 18 holes to monitor play, track scores, and report results directly to the Rush OPEN Event Leaders in real time.

In case 2 teams tied after 18 holes on Stroke Play, a Matchplay scorecard will be kept throughout 18 holes to determine a winner for the Finals or the Playoffs if needed.

Tee Assignments

Both events at The Rush OPEN will feature carefully designated tees, varying based on the event format and player gender. Some groups will compete from similar tee placements, while others will face strategic adjustments to ensure a fair and competitive challenge. Want to see how the yardage stacks up? Tee Box Setup

In The The Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL Male players will compete from the furthest Tee 1 box (Male) and Tee box 3 (Female) placement, ensuring a challenging and true test of skill. Some holes feature multiple yardage markers, but to eliminate any confusion, custom Rush OPEN tee markers will be placed on Tee Boxes 1, 3, and 5 for clear designation.

Hole-in-One 
Contest

The ultimate test of skill, precision, and nerves is here! Open to all golfers competing in The Rush OPEN Tournament and The Rush OPEN Invitational, the Hole-in-One Contest on Hole #4 is your chance to prove you’ve got the game to rise above the rest.

 

This is no ordinary Par 3. With a tricky 36-foot-deep green, guarded by three strategically placed sand bunkers at its narrowest point, your shot must be nothing short of perfection. It’s not just about distance—it’s about precision, touch, and mastering the unforgiving slopes of the green.

 

With the crowd watching, your peers analyzing your every move, and the pressure at its peak, can you keep your composure? Will you choose the right club, dial in the perfect club speed, and thread the needle to land the shot of a lifetime?

Match Play Format

The Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL becomes to be different when all Golfers have finished, and scores are reported, the Rush OPEN EVENT Officials will announce the top 4 Teams and they will go into a Playoff.  This is done with A game of Singles played over 2 Holes

In the Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL Championship, the pressure is at its peak as the top teams send their best to battle it out in a Singles Format on the Events final 2 Championship holes.

Who Gets In?

The top 4 teams (8 Players) after 18 holes (based on the best scores) qualify, and each team decides which player takes on which hole.

Tiebreaker Rules

A) If 2 finalist Teams cannot be determined, then a playoff between 1 selected player from those teams, playing head to head on the #17 Par 3

B) If Multiple Teams are Tied, then one Player from each Team will play in a “Closest to the Pin,” taking place on the Par 3 – Hole 17 to determine the last qualifying team.

The course will be in pristine condition for our event, thanks to the Wyndham Clark AJGA Qualifier, taking place just three days before The Rush OPEN. 

 

This means you’ll be playing on the best course conditions Walnut Creek has to offer, as the course will be expertly prepared for peak performance. To ensure every hole is in perfect shape, Monday, June 9th, is a reserved maintenance day, allowing the grounds team to fine-tune the course and have it ready for an unforgettable tournament experience.
