Many of you have played in corporate tournaments, school fundraisers, and sports organization events, but The Rush OPEN takes that classic format and injects it with extra excitement!
Team Challenge
Just like in any traditional tournament, your goal is simple—complete 18 holes with the lowest score possible. But along the way, you’ll face fun hole contests that test your skills and add an extra layer of competition.
Mulligans for Redemption
Bad drive? Missed putt? No problem! Mulligans are available for purchase to give you a second chance. You can grab them before the tournament, at the Turn, or even on specific holes throughout the course. Strategize wisely!
Scoring & Prizes
Once all rounds are complete and scorecards are turned in, we’ll crown the Top 3 teams and award prizes—including the winners of each hole contest.

Tee Box Setup
In The The Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL Male players will compete from the furthest Tee 1 box (Male) and Tee box 3 (Female) placement, ensuring a challenging and true test of skill. Some holes feature multiple yardage markers, but to eliminate any confusion, custom Rush OPEN tee markers will be placed on Tee Boxes 1, 3, and 5 for clear designation.

Yardage Boards on Every Hole
As you arrive at each hole, you'll find a Yardage Board (pictured below), providing precise yardages to help you plan your shot. These measurements are calculated to the middle of the green, not directly to the pin—so factor in adjustments for pin placement with your Range Finder, as well as course conditions.
Navigating the Tee Boxes & Yardage Signs
Golfers will easily find their designated tee box using the Custom Tee Box Markers placed on every Hole throughout the course. However, when reading the Hole Signs upon arrival, note that the yardages are listed in ascending order from Tee 1 through Tee 5—with Tee Boxes 1, 3, & 5 specifically marked for The Rush OPEN.

Whether you’re swinging for glory, bragging rights, or pure adrenaline, these two holes will test your power, precision, and strategy. Do you have what it takes to send the longest bomb and claim the title? Step up and swing away!

Hole #3
To claim the Longest Drive title on this hole, you’ll need skill, control, and the perfect shot shape to conquer the challenge ahead.
Two back-to-back bunkers stand ready to punish any misfires. A reckless swing could land you in trouble, but a perfectly executed fade or draw can navigate around the hazards and find the fairway.
Hole #18
the fairway tightens, demanding not just power but pinpoint accuracy. With bunkers guarding both the left and right. there’s zero room for error—only the most precise drives will have a shot at claiming this Longest Drive hole keep it straight, avoid the traps, and thread the needle down the middle.

test, demanding the perfect blend of distance control, trajectory, and touch.

Get ready to take on the toughest Par 3 on the course—a hole that will challenge even the most skilled golfers.
The Pin Placement: Tucked behind the left bunker, forcing you to navigate a tight approach with pinpoint accuracy.


Hole #7
Hole #17 is not for the faint-hearted—this is where precision meets pressure.
The Challenge Begins Off the Tee: You’ll need to clear the water with a solid, confident strike.
The Green is Well-Defended:, ready to punish anything long.
Out-of-bounds nature areas line both the left and right, making accuracy absolutely crucial.
Hole #17
another long Par 3, but with a twist.
Due to not having water or bunkers in front of the green, An option to play Safe, Keep it low and run the ball straight toward the pin.
The Risk: Stray even slightly off-line, and the bunkers on both sides—like magnets—are waiting to “trap” your shot.




Hole-in-One
Contest
The ultimate test of skill, precision, and nerves is here! Open to all golfers competing in The Rush OPEN Tournament and The Rush OPEN Invitational, the Hole-in-One Contest on Hole #4 is your chance to prove you’ve got the game to rise above the rest.
This is no ordinary Par 3. With a tricky 36-foot-deep green, guarded by three strategically placed sand bunkers at its narrowest point, your shot must be nothing short of perfection. It’s not just about distance—it’s about precision, touch, and mastering the unforgiving slopes of the green.
With the crowd watching, your peers analyzing your every move, and the pressure at its peak, can you keep your composure? Will you choose the right club, dial in the perfect club speed, and thread the needle to land the shot of a lifetime?

The Final Battle for Victory
In the Rush OPEN INVITATIONAL Championship, the pressure is at its peak as the top teams send their best to battle it out in a Singles Format on the Events final 2 Championship holes.

Player 1 from each team will compete on Par 3
Hole 18
Player 2 from each team will compete on Par 5
Who Gets In?
The top 4 teams (8 Players) after 18 holes (based on the best scores) qualify, and each team decides which player takes on which hole.
Tiebreaker Rules
A) If 2 finalist Teams cannot be determined, then a playoff between 1 selected player from those teams, playing head to head on the #17 Par 3
B) If Multiple Teams are Tied, then one Player from each Team will play in a “Closest to the Pin,” taking place on the Par 3 – Hole 17 to determine the last qualifying team.

The course will be in pristine condition for our event, thanks to the Wyndham Clark AJGA Qualifier, taking place just three days before The Rush OPEN.
This means you’ll be playing on the best course conditions Walnut Creek has to offer, as the course will be expertly prepared for peak performance. To ensure every hole is in perfect shape, Monday, June 9th, is a reserved maintenance day, allowing the grounds team to fine-tune the course and have it ready for an unforgettable tournament experience.
